“Art is a mystical
process. It’s an exploration
of emotion, intellect,
spirituality and the energy
generated and released
through every aspect of
one’s being. It’s an
expression of the interplay
between the conscious and
the unconscious mind.
I paint to experience a kind
of freedom from the
trappings of rational
perception. My objective is
to expand consciousness
through spontaneous movement
within a two-dimensional
manifestation of color,
gesture and pattern.
As human beings we tend to
have an inherent desire to
experience altered states of
consciousness. Art is a
conduit for this kind of
inward journey. Art expands
consciousness by helping us
to break free from the
imprisoning models of
reality that we have created
by our own minds.”
