| Art Directors Guild Comes to NoHo |
|
You've seen their work on TV and in Film,
now's your chance to see their personal
works at NoHo Gallery LA.
Art Unites
Free Public Reception Open to All: Saturday,
September 8 from 6:30-10:30PM
Exhibit: September 8 – October 6
For the second consecutive year, the Art
Directors Guild will sponsor an exhibit of
the personal art of its members, who are the
Production Designers, Art Directors and
Graphic, Scenic and Title artists working in
motion pictures, television and commercials.
“Work from every medium, including painting,
sculpture, bronze work, water colors, oils,
textiles, ceramics and photography will be
featured,” Scenic Artist and Chair of the
Fine Arts Committee Denis Olsen stated.
“With a group of people comprising such
diverse talents and vision, this year’s show
will be spectacular. The commercial work of
these artists can be seen everyday on
television and film. With this show we get a
chance to see the personal work from these
artists.”
Some of the Local 800 members representing
various disciplines who have registered
(listed alphabetically) include: Fred
Andrews, Production Designer, (CSI Miami,
Without A Trace); Peter Davidson, Assistant
Art Director, (Mad Men, Vegas, Baby); Max
Gabl, Graphic Artist, (Kill Bill, The
Incredible Hulk, Mystic River); Lawrence
Hubbs, Art Director, (Capital, X-Men II,
Inspector Gadget, National Treasure); Susan
Lomino, Assistant Art Director, (Cruel
Intentions, Step By Step, Scary Movie 2);
Michelle Milosh, Art Director, (Significant
Others, The Keeper); Edward Rubin,
Production Designer, Art Director, (Mud
Season, Oliver Beene, Immediate Family);
Patricia van Ryker, Production Designer
(Seventh Heaven, A Fine Mess); William
Ryder, Art Director, (The Wonder Years,
Criminal Instinct, Inventing The Abotts);
The Art Directors Guild Local 800, is
comprised of Production Designers, Art
Directors, Scenic, Title and Graphic
Artists; all of whom are design
visualization specialists in the art of
entertainment design for the moving image
and themed design industries. These 1,600
artists represent the leading design
professionals from around the world, who
through a combination of observation,
passion and imagination, translate the
writer’s words and the director’s vision
into a physical reality that is both
memorable and visually arresting.
ART UNITES opens to the public on Saturday,
September 8, 2007 and runs until Saturday,
October 6, 2007. Additionally, NoHo Scene, a
one-day arts festival, takes place the last
day of Art Unites, October 6th, from
10AM-11PM. The Art Directors Guild is a
sponsor of NoHo Scene, fostering the spirit
of the annual event that celebrates theaters,
art groups and local business who contribute
to the ambiance and creative atmosphere of
NOrth HOllywood.
