Do’s and Don’ts when attending an Outdoor Festival like “NoHo Scene”

By Jack Witt

NoHo Scene is coming up October 6th and you’ll want you to enjoy it and be healthy and safe at the same time. Here are some tips to making it an enjoyable experience:

Do: Make sure to wear sunscreen that blocks both UVA and UVB rays. Reapply every two hours.

Don’t: Forget to apply it behind the ears, a common missed area.

Do: Wear comfortable shoes that support your feet. During the simple act of walking, the foot absorbs one and a half times the body’s weight.

Don’t: Forget to replace your worn out shoes every 300 miles.

Do: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. Our bodies are 70% water anyway; so make sure to drink 8-10 glasses daily.

Don’t: Drink alcohol and drive home. The festival is right near the Metro Station, the gateway to transportation in the San Fernando Valley so use it.

Do: Bring the kids. The NoHo Scene will have plenty of activities for children to learn and grow within the arts.

Don’t: Let them wonder out of your view or the parameters of the festival. And reinforce the importance of being considerate to other NoHo Scene goers.

Do: Enjoy all the good food from local restaurants in NoHo.

Don’t: Eat large portions or go over your total daily calorie allotment. It’s best to eat a small dinner the evening before and a small breakfast that morning so you can sample all the unique festival food you wouldn’t normally eat and not have a guilty conscience.

Do: Come early (11am) and stay late (10pm)

Don’t: Miss it!!
