Contributed by Nora Feldman, Youth Arts Editor

The holidays have crept up on us once again. There is so much entertainment available for families at holiday time - - that it is indeed a daunting task to list it all here. However, I have put together a comprehensive list of entertainment events which may be worthwhile for you and your family to check out.

Purchase these tickets in minutes at NoHo’s On-line Box Office.  Just CLICK on the Show Name

A CHRISTMAS CAROL A man with a flair for telling stories describes the very first time he heard the classic Dickens tale; as a child growing up in a camp of migrant farm-workers in the late 1960s.On that magical night, an old movie actor happens upon the camp on his way to a performance of his one-man show and is entreated to perform the story for the group. Suddenly, through the magic of a child’s mind, the group is transformed into a company of players who take us through the timeless journey of Ebenezer Scrooge as he evolves from a miserly old grouch to a happy, generous man with the help of Jacob Marley, the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future and the Cratchit family. The Road Theatre Company, 5108 Lankershim Blvd. NoHo, CA 91601. (818) 759-3382.

A CHRISTMAS CAROLReturn of the updated version of the Dickens classic including a Hannukah scene. Now's your chance to drop in on Scrooge, the Cratchits, the famous Ghosts and the Fezziwig's Chanukah party (!) in a show that Entertainment Today describes as having "songs that leave the audience humming as they exit, smiles warming their faces even more than does the So-Cal December sun." AND - come before the show and see SANTA! Yes, Virginia, there IS a Santa Claus and he will be at The Company Rep 1/2 hour before every show to hear what kids want for Christmas and take a photo with them!! Why wait in long lines at the mall when you can come see Santa AND catch the best Christmas Carol in town!! The Company Rep, 5112 Lankershim Blvd., NoHo.  Saturday & Sunday through December 19. (818) 506-7550. (All ages)

THE JOLLY SAINT Mere weeks before Christmas, a disgruntled Santa goes on a journey to remind mankind of the true meaning of Christmas. After a sudden accident, he winds up with the Dugans, who are frantically preparing for crazy relatives visiting their home for the holidays. To make matters worse, Santa has amnesia! It may take the combined efforts of Santa's elves and a Christmas Angel to save Santa from the Dugans, jog his memory and get him back to the North Pole in time for Christmas Eve. It's another ensemble comedy designed to fill your holidays with laughter. Appropriate for audiences 7 and up. Two Roads Theatre at 4348 Tujunga Ave. in Studio City. (866) 811-4111.
