announced
the
popular,
annual
COLFAX
WORLD
FAIR
will be
held on
Saturday,
May 31,
2008
from
12pm-7pm
at the
school.
Colfax
Avenue
School,
a Valley
Village
neighborhood
school
is
located
at 11724
Addison
Street
in
Valley
Village.
More
than
5,500
local
residents,
parents,
children
and
educators,
attend
the fair
each
year.
There
will be
rides,
games,
foods
and the
extremely
popular
Silent
Auction,
where
one can
bid on
many
different
and
exciting
items
such as
dinners,
gift
baskets,
first
class
trips,
and
much,
much
more.
All the
proceeds
from the
fair go
directly
to help
fund the
students’
various
programs
throughout
the
year.
Without
proceeds
from the
fair,
exciting
programs
such as
various
Arts and
Music
classes,
a
science
lab, new
playground
equipment
and
additional
support
in the
classrooms
and more
would be
lost.
With the
recent
state
budget
education
situation,
it is
more
crucial
than
ever
that
these
programs
are
funded.
“We are
thrilled
to be
bringing
back
this
fantastic,
fun,
family
day to
all our
local
communities,”
said
Colfax
Principal
Joanie
Freckmann,
“The
fair
allows
us a
budget
for our
outstanding
programs
that are
above
and
beyond
the
school’s
operating
budget.”
Admission
for the
COLFAX
WORLD
FAIR is
free.
