CHILDREN’S BUREAU SEEKING FAMILIES TO NURTURE AT-RISK CHILDREN IN FOSTER AND ADOPTIVE PROGRAM

(North Hollywood, CA)  With more than 70,000 children removed from their parent’s homes due to abuse and neglect and 119,000 children waiting for adoptive homes in the U.S., there is a great need for caring adults to provide a loving, nurturing home as either foster or adoptive parents.  A parent orientation will be held on Saturday, July 21st  from 10 a.m. -12:00 noon at the Children’s Bureau’s office located at 11815 Riverside Drive, North Hollywood, CA 91607 (a house).  Those interested, adults single or married, are welcome (both English and Spanish speaking).

Foster parenting involves caring for a child (or brothers or sisters) on a short or long-term basis while adoption offers these vulnerable children a permanent, stable home environment.  Teenagers need homes, too!  In either situation, you have the opportunity to give a child (or children) who has been hurt- either emotionally or physically – a life filled with love, hope and all the little things that make childhood special! Due to a lack of foster and adoptive families, Children’s Bureau turns away over 100 children per month, including 20 newborn babies and young sibling sets.  If you have ever considered fostering or adoption, now is the time to call!

Qualifying families receive training, certification, funds and 24-hour support to aid in the care of their foster or adoptive children.  For more information, please call (818) 985-8154, Ext. 0, call toll free (800) 730-3933, Ext. 0 or visit Children’s Bureau Web site at www.all4kids.org where interested families may print out an application.   Se Habla Espanol!

Training is provided by Children’s Bureau, a licensed foster family and adoption agency.  Founded in 1904, Children’s Bureau provides professional treatment and prevention services to more than 9,000 abused and neglected children and their families each year throughout San Bernardino, Riverside, Los Angeles, Ventura and Orange counties.  Children’s Bureau has been “Saving Children and Healing Society for Over 100 Years!”  ###
