This is
the second edition of a monthly column to
provide answers to frequently asked
questions about the North Hollywood
activities of the Community Redevelopment
Agency of the City of
Los Angeles
(CRA/LA). Additional information on our
activities can be found on the CRA/LA web
site at
http://www.crala.org
[CRA/LA Project Areas > North Hollywood].
The
North Hollywood
team updates the information on our pages
regularly. There is also a quarterly report
published in hard copy that may be
downloaded from the web, obtained at our
office or sent via US Mail.
The CRA/LA manages 32 redevelopment project
areas in seven regions throughout the City
of
Los Angeles.
The North Hollywood Redevelopment Project
Area is located within the East Valley
Region. The region also includes the
Laurel
Canyon
and the Pacoima/Panorama City project areas.
The East Valley Region offices are located
in the Academy building at
5200 Lankershim
Boulevard, Suite 750
(the corner of Lankershim and Magnolia
boulevards). Our phone number is (818)
753-1918.
This
month’s Q&A:
Will there
be a festival in 2007?
Yes.
October 6, 2007.
Mark your
calendars.
In late
March, the Universal City North Hollywood
Chamber of Commerce decided not to produce
the 2007 festival.
However, the show must go on!
As such, the CRA/LA will continue
support of this event and is involved in
discussions with members of the NoHo
creative arts community to re-conceptualize
the experience.
So far what we know for
sure is that it will be a one-day festival
and will be something completely different
and completely NoHo!
Stay tuned for
more details as they become available.
Update
on the BID
The effort
to form a BID was successful.
Ballots were opened by
the City Clerk after a public hearing at
City Council on April 3, 2007.
Public
announcement of the ballot tabulation took
place at City Council on April 4, 2007--the
majority of the ballots were "yes" votes and
the City Council formally adopted the
ordinance establishing the BID.
The City Clerk
will prepare and administer an operating
agreement between the City and a nonprofit
management entity for administration of the
BID.
Does
the CRA/LA have a homeownership program in North Hollywood?
There is not currently
a homeownership program in the North
Hollywood Project Area.
However, the Los
Angeles Housing Department has a citywide
homeownership program.
Please visit their web
site at
http://www.lacity.org/lahd for more
information.
