Since 1982, Martin Dancers has been under the sole direction of Shirley Martin, who continues to nurture Horton's style, while at the same time, has developed a recognizable style all of her own. The Company provides arts-related programs for all age groups. Classes include: modern ballet, classical ballet, salsa, modern dance, hi-energy dance, jazz and folk dance, stretch classes for mature adults, as well as drumming, guitar, and art.

Martin Dancers is also active in the NoHo community and in the greater Los Angeles area. The Company presents "Sundays Only in NoHo," a venue for visual artists to display their work and others can perform before a live audience.

The Martin Dancers recently moved to their new location at the MKM Cultural Arts Center, 11401 North Chandler Blvd., North Hollywood.

Martin Dancers was founded in 1980 to preserve the late Lester Horton's unique style and technique. Martin Dancers will offer complimentary dance classes throughout Festival weekend.
