Hey North Hollywood! Did you know that in November, Metro implemented a new program on the Red Line? They added more trains resulting in trains coming every 10 minutes between 6PM and Midnight. Metro CEO Art Leahy met and listened to what NoHo community and business leaders had to say: "Make using the subway more convenient than taking your car." With the price of gas going up weekly and parking still a premium in NoHo, grabbing a subway that is easily and quickly accessed looks good to many riders. A fact - 145,737 people board the Metro Red Line every weekday. Our neighborhood is fortunate to have the Metro hub right in the heart of NoHo: The Orange Line and Red Line.
"With this enhanced service, we're hoping to make it easier for Metro riders to take advantage of all of the great businesses, restaurants and sporting and entertainment venues around town," said Metro CEO Art Leahy. "And because of the special deals available exclusively to Metro riders, they can save money on entertainment and shopping at the same time they're saving money on gas and parking and helping improve traffic and air quality."
At the end of May, Metro will evaluate the increased train service on the Red Line and other subway lines to decide whether to expand enhanced evening service to additional lines.
"Our goal with this new service is to make travel easier and faster for our customers," said Metro CEO Art Leahy. "And if the added trains prove popular and useful, we'll certainly make every effort to expand the program."
With NoHo's growing night life, spread the word to your friends and family. Our vote goes to extending the evening service until 2AM!
