Create
Your Own Tour
This
is for adventurous tour operators who want to give their guests
a unique arts experience.
Our tours can be for just one day or for an extended period of
time. Let us know your needs and interests and we'll
create the perfect tour for you. A few examples of the specialty tours we have created
are:
Music – Behind the Scenes – A
group of 25 Japanese students interested in music spent a day at
one of NoHo’s 50 recording studios, experiencing the
"behind-the- scenes" role a recording studio plays in creating
the music we hear around the world. Students were given a tour
of the facilities and special instructions from the recording
team. They then took part in a recording session, working on
each component of the recording process. After they were given a
CD of their work as a souvenir. During a catered lunch provided
by one of our eclectic restaurants, the students were greeted by
the recording studio’s president who gave detailed accounts of
what it’s like to work for a large American record label and
spoke on how to land a record deal.
The Photo Shoot – Local art
students majoring in photography had the chance to put their
studies to the test at one of NoHo’s professional photo studios.
Twelve students spent a day with a team of four commercial
photographers who have worked in journalism, fashion and music.
The students were trained in shooting, developing and coloring
techniques using the latest in photography technology. During
lunch, each photographer gave a personal account of what it’s
like to be a professional photographer, giving colorful stories
of their experience shooting during rough times, on the cat walk
and at music events. They also gave anecdotes and tips on
succeeding in the competitive world of photography.
To end the day, students were introduced to a group of
models and dancers for a professional photo shoot in order to
give them real world experience and the opportunity to build
their portfolio.
The
Arts Appetizer –
We took a group of parents and their children visiting
Los Angeles while their spouses were at a major conference and
gave them an all-day arts experience. The
morning was spent at one of our art galleries where both
children and parents worked together to create a piece of art as
a souvenir of NoHo. Next
stop was NoHo’s arts center where the parents were taken to
the theatre to see an award-winning play and, after the show,
they met the cast and crew and spoke with them about their
experience working in theatre, on TV and in film and went back
stage to experience first-hand how theatre is created.
The children were being entertained down in the arts
center’s gallery by an improv group devoted to children’s
theatre. After a
relaxing lunch, the families went to one of NoHo’s top dance
studios where they took part in world dance. Live drummers
instructed guests on releasing their creativity through drumming
and dancers showed them the art of tribal dance. Our guests then
joined the dance celebration by drumming and, for those more
adventurous, dancing to the rhythms of the drums.
Festival
Fervor – Every middle of May the
arts take over the streets for the annual NoHo Theatre &
Arts Festival. Guests are guided by our tour managers through
the maze of art forms. First stop is our arts & crafts area
where guests are able to create their own “art” with the
help of our local artisans and explore the numerous hand-made
items only found in NoHo. Next stop is our Kids Kourt area where
children and adults alike are entertained by our talented
children performing Broadway showtunes and dances from around
the world. We then walk through the fine arts exhibit where
guests meet local artists and see how art is created from the
beginning to the end. After
lunch we stop at the concert stage for music and dance
performances. Guests
are often invited to participate in dance lessons ranging from
hip-hop to tango. To
round out the arts day, our tour guests select a theatre
performance from one of 50 shows performed by our award-winning
theatres. This is
the perfect opportunity to experience all art forms in one
fun-filled day.
