About WIT
Organized in
1978 as a support group for women in the arts, WIT
is dedicated to promoting positive images of women and empowering theatre
arts professionals through performance, education, net-working, service and
outreach in Southern California. WIT is a not-for-profit organization,
tax-exempt under the provision of the IRS Code 501 (c) (3).
Red Carpet Awards
A key
goal for the awards is to salute the dedicated yet perhaps unsung theatrical
participants throughout greater Los Angeles and those that provide community
support and enlighten the lives of others via various forms of live artistic
expression and performance.
More Information
Every month WIT offers
several events including
playreading, playwriting workshop, luncheons with
guest speakers, cold reading class and other special programs. There is a
monthly board of directors meeting. Call the Hotline for current details.
WIT has Quarterly meetings -
March, June (with annual Board and Officer elections), September, December, at which we
are now having door prizes and usually some entertainment. By-Laws and Newsletters are
always available for perusal.
WIT always welcomes
suggestions about events, improvements and/or additions, more networking opportunities,
guest speakers, entertainment, donations and anything else you care to share with us -
just call the above Hotline.
